Our Return Policy Basics:
- Items purchased on therenovationstore.com cannot be returned to our stores. (Includes The Renovation Store or any other retail store location)
- Merchandise must be returned within 90 days in unused, like-new condition. Live goods and items that use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned to therenovationstore.com if used. Please see list of exceptions below.
- All damage and shortage claims should be made within 30 days of delivery. If damaged upon arrival you have the right to refuse the order.
- A copy of the packing slip or the customer receipt must accompany all returns.
- A refund will be issued to the original credit card within 1 -2 billing cycles.
To Prepare Your Return:
- Please use the original packaging or a strong corrugated carton.
- Complete the "Returned Items" portion of your original packing slip or clearly note reason for return on the slip; include a copy inside the package; pack and tape your package securely.
- Write your purchase order number (found on your packing slip in the lower left-hand corner under PO#) on the provided pre-paid label in the space provided. Affix the label to the outside of the package.
- We use both UPS and FedEx pre-paid labels. Drop off your package at the appropriate carrier location, drop box or carrier driver.
- For The Renovation Store returns, call our customer service at 1-866-338-7771.
Returns Exceptions:
- Damaged Items and Shortage Claims Any damaged or missing items must be reported within 30 days of delivery by calling 1-866-338-7771.
- Returning Products Containing Hazardous Materials Due to safety hazards, items that use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned through the mail, even if the item was drained of these materials. This would include items like lawn mowers, leaf blowers and any other items that use flammable liquids or gases. Please call 1-866-338-7771 for instructions for returns of products containing hazardous materials.
Items Purchased Online
To return merchandise, call us at 1-866-338-7771 and we’ll arrange for your item to be picked up and returned free of charge as well as provide you with a return authorization number. Items purchased online or by phone cannot be returned to our stores. Merchandise must be returned in unused, like-new condition with a pre-authorized RA# from the call centre or a credit cannot be issued.

Items That Use Flammable Liquids or Gases
Please note that items that use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned if used because they create a safety hazard. For example, if you filled your leaf blower with fuel, it cannot be returned via mail even if you drain the tank before shipping. Please call 1-866-338-7771 for instructions.

Items Purchased in Our Stores
For fast, easy returns, keep your receipt. It not only ensures that you get the proper credit for your purchase, but it also helps our associates process your return quickly.
Returns with an original sales receipt within 90 days of purchase
Any purchase made by credit card will be refunded to the original credit card.
Any purchase made by cash will be refunded in cash; any purchase made by debit card will be refunded to the original debit.
Any purchase made by a cheque that has cleared the 15-day waiting period will be refunded in cash.
Any purchase made by a cheque that has not cleared the 15-day waiting period may be refunded as a Store Credit.
Any purchase made by Store Credit, Gift Certificate or Gift Card will be refunded as Store Credit.
Returns with an original sales receipt after 90 days of purchase
A Store Credit may be issued for the original purchase price.*
Returns without a sales receipt
If you made your purchase in the past 90 days by credit, debit, or check we may be able to look up your receipt for you.
If we are unable to look up your receipt because you did not pay with one of the options listed above, a Store Credit may be issued based on the lowest selling price.
Exceptions
Some Special Order returns subject to 15% restocking fee. Cancellations may be subject to 15% restocking fee. See the Special Services Desk for details.
Custom made products: No returns.
Custom tinted paint department products: No returns.
Gift Cards, Gift Certificates, and Store Credit cannot be exchanged or returned for cash, credit or cheque.
The Renovation Store reserves the right to request valid identification prior to accepting merchandise for a return.
The Renovation Store reserves the right to limit or refuse to accept the return of certain merchandise at any time and for any reason.
The Renovation Store will only accept the return of merchandise purchased from “The Renovation Store” store.
Purchases made with a Customer Agreement must be returned to the same location in which it was purchased. See Special Services Desk for details.
* The Renovation Store may issue a cheque for refunds over $1,000.
