HOW IT WORKS

The ThermoDrain consists of a single 3/4" copper potable water tube wound around a central copper drain tube. Wastewater flowing down the drain transfers heat to the cold water moving upwards through the coil. The preheated water from the ThermoDrain then feeds the water heater and/or the cold side of the shower thus requiring less energy. The single coil design offers very low pressure drop and high efficiency.

ENERGY STAR® FOR NEW HOMES 2016 BUILD STANDARD 12.6 AND THERMODRAIN

ENERGY STAR® for New Homes Points for ThermoDrain Drain Water Heat Recovery.

The TDH3335B is the ThermoDrain model used for Energy Star for New Homes across Canada. It exceeds the minimum performance requirements set by Natural Resources Canada.

Core Builder Option Packages (BOP) now include ThermoDrain as an option. If your province is not listed below, you can still received significant and cost effective points through Performance Path.

Points for ThermoDrain in the 2016 ENERGY STAR®

Points are based on the number of shower stacks from which heat is being recovered, not the number of DWHR units, with one exception: houses with a total of one shower may claim the points for two showers since the DWHR unit is recovering heat from all the showers in the house. The maximum allowable amount is two showers.
